Atavika Innovation Pvt Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the “TripShare” mobile application (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use TripShare. By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. About TripShare

TripShare is a collaborative trip expense sharing application designed to help users track shared expenses, calculate split balances, and communicate within chat rooms during trips.

The App is intended for a general audience, including friends, families, colleagues, and anyone interested in dividing group travel costs seamlessly.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

a. Account & Identity Information

  • Local username or display name (customizable by you)
  • Anonymous Firebase Authentication User ID (automatically generated upon opening the app)

Note: We do not require or access your email address, phone number, password, or third-party social media profiles (unless specifically integrated in future versions).

b. Trip & Expense Shared Data

  • Trip codes, names, and descriptions
  • Expenses added, including item descriptions, amounts, and transaction dates
  • Participant split distribution settings
  • Chat messages and event logs within trip rooms

This data is stored locally on your device and synchronized securely with our cloud database to update your group members in real-time.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect:

  • Device type, operating system version, and app version
  • OneSignal Push Notification Player ID / External User ID (associated with your anonymous Firebase UID) to route push notifications
  • Crash logs and performance diagnostics

2.3 Hardware Permissions

  • Camera Access (android.permission.CAMERA): We request access to your device's camera to allow you to scan invite QR codes when joining travel groups. Camera frames are processed strictly in real-time on your local device and are NOT stored or transmitted to our servers.

2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

  • Precise GPS location or background tracking
  • Contact lists, SMS messages, or call logs
  • Files, documents, or photos from your device library (unless explicitly chosen by you for receipt attachments, if implemented)
  • Financial account details, bank accounts, or credit card numbers. No actual payments or monetary transactions are processed through the App.

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your data for advertising or marketing. Your information is used strictly to power core app features.

4.1 Storage Architecture

Your data is stored using a hybrid local-and-cloud model:

  • Local Database: Stored securely on your device using Hive local storage.
  • Cloud Database: Stored and synchronized securely using Firebase Firestore.

4.2 Security Practices

We implement standard safeguards including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all communication in transit
  • Firestore Security Rules restricting access to members of active trip codes
  • Authorized endpoint calls protected by anonymous Firebase Auth tokens

Please note that while we use industry-standard measures, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

We utilize trusted third-party services to provide infrastructure and notification capabilities. We do not sell or lease your data to these services.

6. Children's Privacy

TripShare is not targeted at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has accessed the App or uploaded data, please contact us for immediate deletion.

  • Wipe Local Data: You can clear your local database, local username, and cached room logs at any time via the "Wipe Local Data" button in Settings.
  • Cloud Deletion: You can request data removal or query stored records by emailing our team at contact@atavika.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.

  • Local-first processing of camera frames (processed entirely in real-time on your device, never stored or transmitted to our servers).
  • Real-time synchronization of shared expense logs and chat messages inside travel rooms.
